This data set consists of metadata inventories provided to the USGS by individual members of the Landsat 7 International Ground Station (IGS) network.
Members of the Landsat 7 IGS network will often collect Landsat 7 scenes via direct downlink while the satellite is within view of that particular ground station. Thus, for areas outside the U.S. there may be many additional Landsat scenes that were collected by the ETM+ instrument, but the scenes are not archived or distributed by the USGS Earth Resources Observation and Science Center (EROS).
This dataset provides access to IGS metadata records, thus allowing a preliminary indication of whether a particular scene may be available from another Landsat 7 ground station. To order an image from the IGS data set, the user will need to contact the individual ground station specified in the metadata record.
Note that when ordered from a separate ground station, these data would not be a product of the USGS EROS. Product prices, available formats, and/or processing options may vary according to the data provider.
